Appearance :
The Chariot. Here, a figure is standing upright in a winged chariot led by two horses, one brown and one white, splashing through water. Each horse is attempting to turn in the opposite direction. The brown horse seems more wild and untamed whereas the white horse is muscular and powerful, more disciplined. One really gets the feeling of staying focused and driving straight ahead, in spite of the energies that pull us in different directions.

This shows the need to balance.  The brown horse shows the wildness in our natures,  the white horse shows the balance and the courage and determination to stay on the right path.  The light from the earth rising up between the horses is the energy consciousness of ourselves.  This light carries different aspects of ourselves up with it.  If you look closely, you can see the images of ourselves moving upward.  The charioteer ride alongside that which it wishes to defeat so he does not exert as much energy as he would if he tried to charge forth against the tide.  The charioteer wears emblems of the sun, yet the sign behind this card is Cancer, the moon. This card is about motion, and yet it is often shown as stationary.On the one hand, the Chariot indicates loyalty, motivation and a conviction that will lead to victory no matter the odds. On the other hand the chariot can also signal a ruthless, die hard desire to win at any cost. .Remember to save your energy.  Victory is just the start of things.  Learning to control your feelings and to recognize what you must to retain the balance is the job that awaits you and it is a life long lesson.
